I got into the graphic art mindset in high school actually when I learned about a new program called Adobe Photoshop 7.0. In the beginning I just messed around with the program because I wanted to learn how to all the cool graphics I saw on different art websites and eventually it came to a point where I started to help my teachers out with their flyers, layout and photo retouching projects. I did'nt have the opportunity to have a graphic design class besides my traditional art class so I self taught myself because Photoshop becames a strong passion and hobby. Then the craziest thing happened. I learned that there was actauly career in this! It was called Graphic Design. (Seriously though I did'nt know that I could make a career out of this.)
So anyway I did the whole apply to the college thing and went to the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. During that I polished on skills here and there, learned about new software. I got the whole package. I also did some freelance work. After 3 years (because I had classes over the summer break also) I earned my B.A. in Graphic Design. Sweet deal I think.
I love graphic design. I am the guy who would looks at the hard covered graphic design books at the bookstore to get inspired. I buy magazines (Advanced Photoshop and Computer Art are my favorite) to learn more. Walk with me at a movie theater and take a look at the giant movie posters. I hope you get the idea and if not e-mail me and I'll tell you more.
I love what I do and I have fun at it.
